Spring 2025 in Perth (#11 in series: “mushy”…but pushy)

Even a suburban building site can contain examples of how so many living things “really get going in spring.”

Looked at closely, the “eruption” of a fungal fruiting body can be a surprisingly violent event.

A “mushy” can move a deal of earth, along with the “litter” thereon.

i took the photo as we walked beside a Shenton Park building site at 1.24 pm on 21 September, shortly after our lunchtime encounter with the nest-building willie wagtails.

This series next few chapters will show a lethal interaction between two wild animals.

It occurred within easy (human) walking distance of the very centre of Perth’s CBD, on a perfect spring day that prompted many humans to enjoy a stroll in Kings Park.
