European surprises (#5 in single-image teaser series: oligarch-infested waters)

If you are looking for two-legged “sharks”, success is guaranteed in Capri – onshore and offshore.

Oligarchs’ “yachts” abound in its fabled, azure waters, whilst the island-proper is a case study in over-priced-everything, far too many tourists, and strikingly inadequate/inept infrastructure.

Narcissism, greed, rank opportunism and inanity are inescapably evident, in every direction.

All that said, Capri’s intrinsic beauty is still apparent.

The featured image looks down from Capri’s highest point, nearly 600 metres above the Mediterranean; at that moment, on 10 September 2023, we just possibly were literally “looking down on Lachlan Murdoch”, less than a fortnight before Rupert purportedly handed him the Murdoch empire’s “reins”.

“The Great White Shark” just might have “parked” his “yacht” down there, too!

A future, multi-image post will further explore/consider Capri…it is possible to “escape the hordes”, for at least a little of one’s warm-season day trip to Capri.
