Looking down (#49 in series: “2” of 2 close views of shimmering water)

In complete contrast to the preceding post, the relevant water is saline rather than “fresh”, and it is neither tannin-darkened, turbulent/fast-flowing, nor shaded by an overcast sky.

At 5.19 pm on the first day of April in 2022, one of our favourite Australian coastal locations was basking in “golden hour” sunlight.

The Fleurieu Peninsula’s Second Valley is a geological marvel, very beautiful, easily-accessed, and within easy day-tripping distance of Adelaide.

Note to anyone who heads to Cape Jervis, to Deep Creek Conservation Park, to Kangaroo Island, or who drives to Victor Harbor “the long way way”, via the “scenic”, coastal route:   take the short detour to Second Valley, and allow yourself at least one hour there.

To see why you should do so, click the “Second Valley” tag, below this post.

If you wish to see more of/ discover more about the Fleurieu Peninsula, generally, click its tag, right beside the “Second Valley” one.
