Looking down (#24 in series: five minutes from Juneau)

 

This post’s photo was taken just three minutes after the previous one’s.

Circa five minutes earlier, our float plane had lifted off from Juneau’s Gastineau Channel.

Summer had almost arrived.

On the relatively low peaks just inland from Juneau, most of the winter’s snowpack had melted away.

The landscape below us was about to become much more dramatic…
