What’s around the corner?

Nobody knows… most especially those who pretend that they do.

Happy New Year, in any event!

Footnote:

The photo (copyright Doug Spencer) was taken just after four o’clock on the warm afternoon of March 14 2021.

There is “No Swimming, by order” at Taylor Inlet.

it sits just behind Nanarup Beach, circa 30 minutes east of Albany, Western Australia.

Boating and fishing are allowed in Taylor Inlet.

Alas, 4WDs are still allowed to drive on/along Nanarup Beach, and in recent years their numbers have mushroomed.

Typically, said vehicles, their owners, and their “music” impose a witless cacophony upon this once-sparsely-peopled, wild ocean beach.

On most weekdays Nanarup Beach is still a wonderful place, but it is nowadays best avoided on weekends, most especially in summer holiday season.

In winter, however, you may well see more whales there, offshore, than fellow humans, onshore.

Happy New Year to you too Doug. Thanks so much for your posts throughout the year. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them – especially those featuring Fitzgerald River National Park 🙂
